Themed Nomination – Happy 4 Hemp

This month Oregon became the 16th state to pass pro-hemp legislation since industrial production of hemp was outlawed in the U.S. over 50 years ago.

Hemp is harvested for its fibers for hemp clothing and seeds for hemp oil. Hemp has a short growth cycle of 100-120 days making it an efficient and economical crop for farmers to grow.

Industrial hemp and marijuana are different breeds of Cannabis sativa. Smoking large amounts of industrial hemp can produce a headache but not a high! Luckily, more states are beginning to understand this and legalize commercial production. Industrial hemp is legally harvested in Canada, Australia, England, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Russia, China and other countries.
