Themed Nomination – Plant a Tree!

in Themed Nomination

Arbor Day is celebrated this Friday in the United States.

The Arbor Day Foundation is encouraging everyone to plant a tree for Arbor Day! Trees  absorb pollutants, such as carbon dioxide, ozone, carbon monoxide, and sulfur dioxide before we ever inhale them. And they emit clean oxygen for us to breathe.

The foundation has many suggestions on ways to celebrate , send free e-cards and very inexpensive plant-a-tree cards and are also having a give a tree photo contest searching for amazing tree photography.

So for this week’s themed nomination let’s think of those incredible life-sustaining plants we are lucky enough to share this planet with and see what our team has to offer.

Like these gorgeous birch bark earrings that Roxy from Woofbark harvests from trees already cut for firewood to heat Maine homes (no living trees are ever harmed in the making of her earrings).

You can do a tag search on Etsy for ‘all items’ and then type in ‘teamecoetsy’ to find an item or items you’d like to nominate for the week’s theme.

And don’t forget to tag your own items ‘teamecoetsy’ so team members can find you!

Please send in your nominations via convo to Cat at Polarity.

The deadline is 3PM EST Wednesday.

Winners will be chosen based on:

1. Picture Quality
2. Appropriateness to the Theme
3. Originality

Thanks and happy hunting EcoEtsians!

Trees are absolutely a passion of mine. I have been including an Arbor Day Foundation pamphlet in my outgoing folk art pillow orders for awhile now. These pamphlets are inexpensive and very informative. The title of pamphlet is Plant Trees for America. I hope to keep passing along info about this effective organization. Sending my best to all of you! [You could get pamphlets for distribution, too. http://www.arborday.org
