How do you make your craft or etsy store eco friendly?

Using fabric , paper and wood that is discarded or found on thrift store shelves, garage sales, even junk mail!  Most greeting cards I receive have been eventually crafted into collage or birds of some type and my business cards are created from repurposed papers as well.

Why did you join the EcoEtsy Team?

After a wonderful mention in one of the summertime ETSY blog articles I looked into joining a team, something I had wanted to do but had not found what I considered a good fit for me. This team is passionate about their mission and goal, active and I really like the blog!! I like the diversity of products as well all united by one common thing.

Which piece in your shop is your current favorite?  What are you currently working on?

“simple BLOCKs” are brand new for me … I am loving the fabric collage and enjoy working on small blocks of wood that have holes in the back for immediate hanging. I relish the softness of the well worn denim and raveling of cloth and look forward to expanding to natural cedar blocks in October …

Is your art/craft your full time job? If not what do you do to pay the bills?

I enjoy a creative job as a Music and Movement teacher at a wonderful preschool. I love the children, it is a happy and energy packed job…7 -9 classes in about four hours so by the time I arrive home the quiet transition to creating in my studio overlooking my garden is a relief…

What is the most eco-friendly purchase you have made?

The last one was a handmade rubber stamp from a fellow Etsian for my business cards.

Anything else to add?

I am a weekly contributor at “Inspiration Studio”.

I post a “Sunday Shops ” each week (featuring etsy shops within a weekly theme)…then once a month I post a  3 x 3 inch collage that I create from repurposed items and this month it will be this Thursday and I am giving it away…  stop by!

I am the mind behind Felt Sassy. I love the whole re-use, recycle movement. One ugly old sweater can make a really cute and sassy pair of mittens...or flower...or anything you want!
