You have less than 2 weeks until Halloween mommys and daddys, so you had better put on your thinking caps and get those costumes together! This year our local elementary school held a Halloween Costume Swap – such a great way to put a little “Reduce, Reuse & Recycle” into Halloween and it was a huge success.
My enterprising mother recycled her children’s costumes between her 3 kids. Once my previous year’s space alien dress was turned into a tunic for my brother to be Caesar, but mostly she was very into painting cardboard boxes. I would be a tv showing Lassie one year and my sister would be a tv showing Bambi the next year - a Bambi that would look an awful lot like Lassie with antlers – not sure her intention was as much reuse as getting 3 kids done fast and cheap, but she was rather cutting edge back in the day. Of course, we all wanted the princess costumes from K-Mart (well, maybe not my brother).
So for this week’s themed nomination let’s get into the Halloween spirit by doing it up EcoEtsy style! Like Montclair Made’s spooky little pouch:
You can do a tag search on Etsy for ‘all items’ and then type in ‘teamecoetsy’ to find an item or items you’d like to nominate for the week’s theme.
Please send your nominations by Etsy convo to Cat at Polarity
The deadline is 2PM EST Wednesday (tomorrow).
Winners will be chosen based on:
1. Picture Quality
2. Appropriateness to the Theme
