{Eco Etsy Finds} Fair Trade Finds

October is Fair Trade Month. There are many products such as coffee, tea, cocoa, herbs, spices, cotton, sugar and many produce items (to name a few) that can be purchased Fair Trade. Purchasing Fair Trade is important, when possible.

The top 10 reasons to buy Fair Trade from Fair Trade Resource Network:

1. Fair Trade means fair pay and working conditions for vulnerable farmers and producers.

2. Fair Trade encourages environmental sustainability.

3. Fair Trade protects children.

4. Fair Trade empowers marginalized workers.

5. Fair Trade is safe.

6. Fair Trade supports communities.

7. Fair Trade is trade farmers and artisans can count on.

8. Fair Trade connects you with other cultures.

9. Fair Trade means sustainable local communities.

10. Fair Trade means what you buy matters.

When shopping for gifts, I like to purchase unique finds that benefit people and the environment. I came across some lovely items from the Eco Etsy Team that included ingredients or materials that are Fair Trade.

Moisturize your hands and body with this Organic Orange Cocoa Butter Solid Lotion Bar by Herban Lifestyle that is made with Fair Trade and Organic Cocoa Butter and Organic Orange Essential Oil. Sounds wonderful!

The silk yarn used for this Fair Trade Recycled Sari Silk Chain Scarf by The Art of Zen Crochet is fairly traded from Womens Groups in Nepal.  Plus the button is made from coconut and Fair Trade. I love the colors and think it would be perfect for Fall.

This Coconut Vanilla Bean Lip and Body Balm by Five Seed sounds delicious! Super moisturizing with Fair Trade and Organic Cocoa Butter and Vanilla Beans plus Organic Almond Oil and Coconut Oil.

Omnatura is always applying Fair Trade principles when designing their eco-friendly fashion accessories. This Unique Purple Geode Cocktail Ring by Omnatura was carved out of a single agate geode from Brazil. I love purple so it had me there but I have not come across anything else like it.

A great gift idea with a bar of handmade soap or a perfect way to save from wasting those last little pieces of bar soap. This soap saver sack by Thoughtful Gems Crafts is made from Fair Trade White Hemp and has exfoliation benefits and can be used over and over again.

This nature-inspired engagement ring or love token by Peaces of Indigo is made with recycled silver and a Fair Trade blue sapphire gemstone. An item worth putting on your Christmas List!
