You are going to absolutely love being part of the best team on etsy. In order to appreciate the team and all that is offered, you will want to contribute so that the team can support, grow and prosper with you.
How do you do that? You can do any one of the following:
- If you became a member recently, you received an invitation to join the Yahoo Group. Joining Yahoo Group is a requirement for being a member of Team EcoEtsy. This is where all our communication and conversations take place. Participating in the group’s forum on Yahoo is especially important because this is where you can find out about team events, fund raisers, promo swaps, other members news and most important of all, the team’s news. When you sign up, you will receive a daily digest of the forum’s activities via e-mail. We strongly suggest that you at least skim topics discussed in the group on a daily basis. You must set your profile setting to receive daily digest so that you can receive team’s activity and announcements.
- Subscribe by e-mail to our blog. This way, you can receive our daily posts. Contribute posts to our blog! Refer to the sidebar on the right for the editors whom you can send your articles to. There are: Theme Nominations, News and Views, Featured Member, Business Tips, Eco-Tips and Tutorials, and EcoEtsy News. More people contribute to the blog, more interesting it will be to read. You don’t want to read the same authors contributing all the time. Whenever you contribute, your shop will be mentioned with the link to the shop so it’s free advertising too!
- Tag your items “teamecoetsy“ – all in one word so that your items can be easily found on Etsy. Team tags are a great way for us to get to know each other, and promote each other in treasuries, blogs, etc. There’s no limit to the amount of promotion our team members have received by simply using the team tag on their eco-friendly items!
- Attend team meetings! Attending all of the meetings would be ideal, but we understand that this is not always possible. Meetings take place in the Etsy’s Virtual Lab. You will receive a reminder email a couple days prior to the meeting (via the Yahoo group). Meetings are important because they give the team a chance to get together and talk about goals, events, questions and concerns.
- Participate in Team Events: Earth Day Auction, Green Holiday Giveaway, Green Share and Gift Swap.
- Create a treasury featuring team members! Team shops and items can be found by doing an Etsy tag search for teamecoetsy. If you are unfamiliar with how to create a treasury, here’s a great tutorial on how it all works! Feel free to ask fellow teammates questions about the treasury process as well if you have them!
- Share links to our team website and blog! Grab the badge and put it on your blog’s sidebar. There are tons of great team promotional materials for print or the web here. These can be added to websites, blogs and social networking sites. The printed promos can be set out at craft shows you sell at, or sent out to customers along with their purchased item!
- Send info about your shop promotions, where you have been featured, etc. to:
- Twitter team account via direct messages so that we can easily retweet them for you!
- Post them on Facebook fan page so that fans of EcoEtsy can see them.
- Send the information to Karen for her to post on “EcoEtsy News” on the blog.

- Add a statement to your shop announcement, profile, and elsewhere that you are a ” Proud EcoEtsy Member. ” Include a link back to our main url while you’re at it! www.EcoEtsy.com
